Software Design Competition in Gemastik 6 – Part 1

Hi! It’s been a long time since the last time I post in this tumblr. 🙂

So, I want to share my experience in Software Design Category in Gemastik 6. I follow this competition with 2 of my friends, Farah Nuraini and Elizabeth. Ok, the first one is my girlfriend. :p

So, how I met them and decide to build a team for this competition? In mid July, I invite Farah to join a competition. We haven’t decide what competition to follow, but I suggest her to participate in Software Design Category in Gemastik 6. I choose this category because I think we just have to make a design of a software, so there is no need for us to code and create the software.

The next step is to find one member for our team. After a long discussion, we decide to invite Ella to join this competition. We choose her because she was a teaching assistance for database course. After forming a team, we are ready to compete! 😀

The first round was quite easy. We just have to submit the project proposal. The only constraint is the late and unclear information from the committee and also the tight deadline so we just have a week to prepare this proposal. Luckily, we can made it on time so we can continue to compete.

After waiting for a week, finally we get the result. We advance to the next stage. Woohoo!

The next stage is really shocking. We have to build a prototype of our software in just 3 weeks! Well, I really depressed that time. I have to go to lombok for PIMNAS 2013 final for a week plus another busy week for preparation. In the end, I try to use all my spare time to code and create the prototype. What a painful time.

In short story, I couldn’t done it on time. So, we submit the app and video that I made with my previous team from two years ago. The app won’t functioning actually, but who cares? We advance to the final! XD

To be continue. 😉
